Travel time to Depth Conversion
Comments on use of the SeisWide package:
21-Oct-03 Version 4.7 Beta now tests OK. You can digitize and edit points
using .txt format with or without reduced traveltime. This might be
useful for quick digitizing before use of other more complex digitizing
packages.
If any bugs or features that need changing please note below.
Usage of SeisWide:
Travel time to Depth Conversion
- Reflection seismic lines (single or multichannel) can be converted from traveltime to depth in SeisWide. This is convenient, because one can use the velocity model created in Rayinvr or SeisWide. Converting to depth in another program (such as Claritas) would require the velocity model to be converted to its own velocity model format.
- It is worth noting that "trace1, trace2" should correspond to "xmin, xmax" (the first trace should be at xmin, and the last trace at xmax.). If the first trace does not correspond to the minimum model offset, SeisWide has an option to reverse this "Reverse signs of offset/distance". Also, "dz" is the depth (sample) interval of this conversion (km). Dz should be set roughly equal to the sample rate of the original data, otherwise aliasing might be a concern.
