NOTE: The current version (1.1.1) corrects a serious bug from the previous version (1.0.2).
It also includes many general improvements. Users are strongly advised to upgrade.
PyShottab is a rewrite of a program (Shottab) which allows one to create a
Shot Table file
from a shotlog and navigation file, with various editable options. The
Shot Table file is used
to create a Segy file with the DOBS-2000 utility.
This version is written in Python (www.python.org), hence the Py prefix.
The notable features of this version are:
- Full GUI with browsable options and error prevention
for input
- A nicely editable .ini style output file for saved
options
- A GUI options editor, and a command line conversion
utility
- Works great on both Windows and Unix machines with
the wxWindows GUI toolkit
- Extremely generic input file support with suitable
defaults for common formats
- Very simple core code structure which can be easily
modified by non CS majors
- No compiling necessary when using source distribution
- Works on files of very large length efficiently
- Self-installing Binary distribution available on
Windows
- Built with 100% open source software, ensuring easily
available, hassle free support tools
